Design Logic Behind Dynamic Composition: Equality
The importance of everyone having an identity in a remote meeting.
In remote meetings, participants often join from various locations—some in groups from meeting rooms, others individually from homes or cafes. This setup creates a disparity in camera views between meeting room participants and individual participants. Moreover, when framing everyone in a meeting room within a single picture, it becomes challenging to discern individual speakers' expressions. Multi-stream Dynamic Composition offers an ideal solution to these issues. By displaying the faces of the two most recent speakers alongside a panoramic view of the meeting room, this feature ensures remote participants can see exactly what they need.
Enable Dynamic Composition for Your ThinkSmart Bar 180 Connected Team Rooms
To make Dynamic Composition work, several settings need to be configured by both company IT admins and end users. I'll break down these settings into two parts for explanation.
IT Admin Settings for Dynamic Composition
1. Create Custom Meeting Policy to Enable Dynamic Composition for Room Account and User Account
By default, Teams Meeting Policy for room accounts and user accounts is turned off. We need to enable the setting for the whole tenant or create a custom policy for those meeting rooms and users who are allowed to use Dynamic Composition. To minimize changes to a tenant's policy, we typically create a custom policy.
1.1 Install the PowerShell Module Used to Create Custom Policy
1.1.1 Run PowerShell as administrator.
1.1.2 Copy the following PowerShell commands into your PowerShell and run:
1.2 Connect to Microsoft Teams Module
Run the following PowerShell command and input your admin credentials to sign in:
1.3 Create Custom Meeting Policy for Resource Accounts
For Teams rooms, typically when they join a remote meeting, the room name will show up on the camera feed. To ensure user names appear on the camera feed of each speaker in the meeting room, we'll set roomPeopleNameUserOverride to "On" and roomAttributeUserOverride to Attribute.

1.4 Create Custom Meeting Policy for End Users
Enable end users to enroll voice and face profiles to use Dynamic Composition:
Check created policy:
2. Apply Created Custom Policies to Room Accounts and User Accounts
Login to Team Admin Center > Users > Manage Users
Assign user accounts the meeting policy "DynamicComUser" we created.
Assign resource accounts the meeting policy "DynamicCompositionMTR" we created.
3. Configure ThinkSmart Bar 180 for Multi-stream Dynamic Composition
Enable Multi-stream Dynamic Composition from ThinkSmart Manager
If the meeting room device connected with ThinkSmart Bar 180 is registered with ThinkSmart Manager, you can use ThinkSmart Manager to remotely change the ThinkSmart Bar 180 setting to Multi-stream.
Enable Multi-stream Dynamic Composition from ThinkSmart Cam Control App
If the customer is not using ThinkSmart Manager to manage room devices, they can install the ThinkSmart Cam Control application on their PC and connect ThinkSmart Bar 180 with the PC to change settings of the ThinkSmart Bar 180.
4. Enable IntelliFrame from Teams Rooms Console
By default, Cloud IntelliFrame is enabled. Make sure you haven't turned it off.
End User Settings for Dynamic Composition
After IT has enabled voice and face profile enrollment for users, users can enroll their voice and face profiles from their desktop version of the Teams app.
Requirements
To use Multi-stream Dynamic Composition, ensure you meet the following requirements:
- Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro license assigned to resource accounts. (If you're using Microsoft Teams Basic license, you'll see active speaker view + panoramic view)
- Cloud IntelliFrame enabled for the device
- Meeting invitation must include all the participants you want to add names to on the camera feed. (Meet Now doesn't support Multi-stream dynamic composition names added to camera feed)
Without a Teams Rooms Pro license, you will experience a different view: an active speaker displayed at the top with a panoramic view below.
